Reading Counts!

Encouraging Simmons' students to read and learn

Simmons uses Scholastic's Reading Counts program to encourage students to improve their reading and language skills.   Children select books of interest to them at their own reading level.  When students finish their books, they take a Reading Counts quiz to test their knowledge and comprehension of the book they read.  Student progress is recorded throughout the year, and prizes and special activities are awarded for students meeting and exceeding the goal for their grade level.
